Hilary Jack is an artist and independent curator based in Manchester, UK. For the past three years she has collaborated with artist/curator Paul Harfleet to develop a curatorial programme at Apartment. Apartment is an artist led project and exhibition space in Pauls one-bedroom council flat on the sixth floor of Lamport Court, a sixties tower block in central Manchester. Here Emerging and established artists from the Uk and beyond are invited to show site responsive work alongside the everyday objects which already exist in the flat and to make new work in response to issues surrounding the location of the space.
As well as working at Apartment, Harfleet and Jack have recentlr curated projects at Cornerhouse, Manchester, Surface Gallery, Nottingham, at Axel Lapp Projects in East Berlin, and most recently were the selectors and curators of CUBE Open, at CUBE in Manchester.
Future projects include the selection and curation of Art Transpennine 08.
