Kiln-formed black glass, sand-carved.
Made using a combination of traditional hand working tools and contemporary digital techniques the work consists of a series of ‘slates’ made of fused glass which contain ‘fossils’ of the future. Depicting iconic items of cultural relevance found discarded on Welsh beaches, the flotsam and jetsam of our age, the work reflects on the lasting impact of non-biodegradable waste on the environment within the context of the Anthropocene.
