Public Art Work

I am fortunate to have worked on many Public Art projects, usually commissioned by County Councils and Developers of new buildings. In addition to the research and design of the artwork, I plan and deliver workshops to engage the local community; work with other designers, architects and stakeholders;  oversee fabrication and installation, plus provide documentation of the project for a final report.

PersonaI Work

I explore areas local to specific sites as a means to shape my ideas and designs.analyse points of interest, local history, wildlife and the landscapes'.natural habitats.

I work with local people, who are familiar with the area, to help shape my ideas and to gain some understanding of the place. In turn this gives local residents a sense of ownership of the final artwork.

For my private artwork, I create detailed drawings of the wild plants and trees, found along my local walks. They are usually large in scale, which totally envelops the viewer. They take several months to complete. In addition, I create giant maps of places I have explored, which I develop into giant wall and floor pieces with a message regarding climate change.
