3D Laser Scan Study 2
By
Joanna Kane
2007 - 2009
From a series of 3D laser scans of plaster life casts of faces. The casts were scanned to create a detailed 3D mesh, which was then digitally rendered in 3D software to create a waxlike semi-transluscent surface.
The images derive from experimental work while researching nineteenth century casting in plaster and wax, and arise from my interest in seeking new quasi-photographic surfaces with new media tools.
