A Familiar Variant

By  Liz West 2020
A Familiar Variant comprises of six ceiling-height tinted segments, the work allows visitors to move in and around the installation in order to see their surroundings and own reflection saturated in different hues. When looking through the coloured sections, people will be able to see the hues mixing to make new colours. West references the colour circle as the literal and pedagogical foundation of her practice, substantiating my ongoing research into individual colour perception and colour theory through visual sculptural forms. Commissioned and exhibited for the first time at Hyvinkää Art Museum, Finland.
