Accommodate

This painting, oil and egg tempera on linen, shows a room which looks like it is dissolving into the exterior, with transparent walls hinting at sky. The atmosphere appears calm and decorative until closer inspection reveals a bed cover that hints at blood and a pair of child's shoes that appear to have gaping mouths. This painting formed part of an exhibition called 'Wall to Wall' which explored notions of confinement and escape.
