ANGE(L) (after the work of Karl Herzog & Erich Von Holst)

By  Pascal-Michel Dubois 2015 - 2019

This piece consists of a medium size poster and a free-standing electric fan. The poster is nailed on the wall, but only on 3 corners The fan is installed at a distance and is blowing air toward the unpinned lower right hand side corner of the poster, making it flip gently after each oscillation…. The piece is referring to the use of poster and reproduction print as a cheap way for decorating a place and displaying your choice in life, your taste your ideal, your vision of the world, etc… The mundane idea of “flipping” the corner of the poster is borrowed from a small sequence in another well-known movie (I leave the spectator guessing which one).
