An embroidered replica of a crushed rejection letter made to scale. This is the first artwork in a new series about rejection. On a certain level the process involved in replicating the crushed letter using embroidery is arduous and painful. On the converse side, we are enjoying harnessing the negative emotions we all suffer upon rejection, into a positive response and even into activism.
To those who reject us we send an email reply, with an image attached of the relevant embroidered letter, inviting the person or organisation to engage in further dialogue about their reasons for and methods of rejection. Turning rejection into art is a way of turning something hurtful, that we all dread, around. Our aim is for these artworks of rejection to be turned into huge wall tapestries. Of course there will have to be a selection process to decide which of the crushed letters will be enlarged - with letters being sent to the successful candidates. Please note that those who reject us by email, without any logo heading, will be invited to re-submit their letters in a more aesthetically satisfying format.
