Aylestone Globe

This performance space gives space to performers and audience through creation of a turf amphitheatre. The form of the piece draws on water and the riverside for paving and carving. The form of the amphitheatre and wooden structure is based on lock furniture and roman remains close to the site. Sited adjacent to where the Grand Union Canal meets the River Soar, the site is one of few along the river that does not flood.
