Inspired by the tiled interiors of grand palaces in Lisbon Portugal, this Trompe L'oeil Oval shaped canvas mimics the cool blue cracked and aged tiles, painted in Monochrome on Gessoe and canvas using acrylics.

Oils on Fabric on Canvas. A monochromatic re-working of photographic image. The focusing and dissolving pattern is intended to work as a visual metaphor for distant and half remembered images. The Blue of the fabric evokes the seaside atmosphere of a windy day in Whitby, Yorkshire.
