Bauble III

Study of a heart with ruptured septum following massive myocardial infarction. Part of a series of works drawn from both contemporary pathological collections and historical anatomical atlases. In painting this in traditional media and earthy colours, the bleached-out, static wet specimen recovers it's warm humanity, even in death.
