Beach, house, dress ...
In front of the mountains, and before the mountains
burn or break up as planned,
houses are set up, but just as houses
that are not real houses, but just as real
fronts of unreal houses
into which everyone can easily run
when the artificial rain begins.
In the collection It by Inger Christensen she invokes a set design as the scene of the poem, in Stage in the symmetries part of the book, she compares the reality of the imagined with the reality of the real? And questions the structure of language, and the density of meaning.
In photography it its the layering of an image, the insecurity of the moment - what exact moment and the way photography relates to the understanding of time and space and how the person both insert themselves in to the stream of images as well as ride the flow of images and utilize the same matrix for what is a correct, appropriate or good image from certain situations?
The series layer images from a dress purchased in London in the early sixties, and well worn, primarily as a dress up item for generations of little girls, wit the images of a beach community originating in the 50ies and inhabited and visited since then.
The photos invoke a sense of memories, constructed through play and repetition.
