Beachy Head

By Fiona Jappy 2017
Acrylic on hardboard panel 15 x 10.2 cm This painting was inspired by my Grandfather's service in the Royal Naval Reserve / Royal Naval Patrol Service in WW2, where it was at Beachy Head that the trawler he served on was torpedoed and he lost his life. It may be a sad memory to have, but it is a beautiful landscape and every time I see an image of it I like to think of the beautiful characteristics of my Grandfather whose final resting place was an incredible majestic site.
