Berlin Water

The artwork for this project was inspired by the waterways of Berlin and the poetry of Stephanie Green. In 2016 and 2017 I visited Berlin, working alongside German sound artist Sonja Heyer along the cities waterways, producing sketches, video and ideas in response to Stephanie’s poetry, the city, the water, its sounds and environment. The collaboration between Stephanie Green and Sonja Heyer generated 'Berlin Umbrellas' which was performed in Berlin in 2018 and at the StAnza International Poetry Festival in St Andrews, in 2020. The poetry, artwork and sound walk take one on an imaginative journey down the course of Berlin’s River Spree. Video about 'Berlin Umbrellas' can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/409219528
