Black Holes

By Chris Dunseath 2011

Chris Dunseath

This sculpture is influenced by black holes which are regions of spacetime from which nothing, even light can escape, they are surrounded by event horizons which mark the point of no return. Black holes can grow by absorbing other stars and merging with other black holes to form supermassive black holes. This sculpture is made from pulped newsprint where the printed text becomes indecipherable which seems appropriate when referring to objects that fall into a black hole becoming lost to outside observers.
