Blank Newspaper is 100 sixteen-page blank newspapers disseminated from Red Gallery in Hull by Alice Bradshaw as part of a Contents May Vary exhibition January - February 2010. Gallery visitors are invited to take a free newspaper away with them and document their reading of the newspaper. Reading The reading is any action or reaction to the blank newspaper and may manifest as thought, emotion, words, physical movement, the use or manipulation of the blank newspaper itself and/or the use or manipulation of other physical object(s) or material(s). The reading can be pre-planned, staged or automatic. The reading can be in any location. The reading is not time limited. Each blank newspaper can have any number of readings. Each reading can involve any number of readers and any number of documentations. The reader and the documenter can be the same person or different people. Each documentation can be made during and/or after the reading. The reading and documentation can be the same process.
