Boxing Day with Grandad

By  Sue Stone 2020
Title: Boxing Day with Grandad Technique: Illustration Medium:iPad digital drawing Size: A3 This illustration shows Grandad’s annual Boxing Day visit and shows him with my cousin Robert Smith and myself dressed in our ‘Sunday best’. A coal fire, a companion set on the hearth, and on the mantel a clock as centrepiece, alongside an Indian brass plate and brass tortoise (my Dad served in India and Burma during WW2) The shell of the tortoise could be lifted to open up and inside my Mum used to store safety pins, odd buttons that had fallen off clothing and pins from her sewing.
