The sculpture celebrates creativity and draws inspiration from the playful act of balancing blocks on top of each other. The structure also refers to the distinctive hard edged architecture of the 1950's/60's housing of Newton Aycliffe, where it is sited, and the nearby units and factories of the Aycliffe industrial estate. Compositionally, there is a strong upward, rotating movement that works differently from every angle. This is important since the prominent nature of the site allows total access, and the sculpture can be viewed from a distance.
