Buried Alive

acrylic paint with painted Tengujo paper, 120 x 90 cms. Painted in recovery from eye surgery, at the same time as the Turkish earthquake and at the same time as doing drawings of Manga eyes with my granddaughter. Somehow all these simultaneous but different experiences coalesced in this intuition-led painting. The surgery was scary and the fact that my mother and grandmother lost their sight in old age was always at the back of my mind - but there are worse things that can happen ...
