Cartographic.009

Dimensions
23 x 31 cm

These island shapes are all imaginary and represent cartography as a process both physically and conceptually. They explore how the maps we produce can at times confound and obscure rather than inform and assist. Within this context, the maps themselves are aesthetic explorations of cartography as a process. Without the necessity to understand the coding or familiarity with the landmass or cites, they become mute abstract imaginary, rather than maps that inform.
