'Chee Tor,Derbyshire'

Colour Pencil on wood panel 70cm x 50cm Does the use of technology in art help or hinder? I began this research initially with the idea of utilising the machine as a means to an end. To transfer and appropriate a found 19th century engraving using a projector. I came to realise the use of such a machine over a long period and turning it off for breaks and overnight was not that simple as the projected image shifted each time. This created frustrations as I have an underlying desire to seek perfection and re-adjust the projector every time it moved. Gradually I relinquished my control to the machine and drawings such as 'Helvellyn, Cumberland' embraced the machine rather than fought against it. Currently on display at 'Ordinary Worlds' exhibition from 10th to 23rd August. At Creake Abbey, Norfolk.
