Clearing (ii) study

By  Alan Stones 2008

Alan Stones

Charcoal The drawing belongs to an on-going group of drawings and paintings with the title 'Clearing'. There is an ambiguity to this title which I enjoy. It could refer to an open space within a forest, or to the act of clearing away, but also to the possibility of 'seeing' things anew. Exhibited in the 'Jerwood Drawing Prize 2008' Jerwood Space, London and touring.
