Clinker Boat Bench

Title: Clinker Boat Bench Materials: English oak Approx size: 4 x 4 x 1Metres Location: River Hamble, Hampshire Date: 2014 The work is inspired by Hamble’s many sailing boats and historic boatbuilding techniques used in the village in the past . Old photos provided key shapes and lines within the design. The Oak timber was steam bent to produce the curved clinker style external shape.
