Cosmology of Life

Unprimed Canvas, Dry pigment, Acrylic, and Pastel

As the painting carefully balances the automatic technique of poured paint with finely detailed intentional marks, it forms nebulous creation that trace origin and development of life. With references to the human body: male and female hormones, the connections are investigated within the nebula of neurones—micro and macro world asserting and reasserting itself. The rich and vibrant colours were painstakingly smudged and smeared directly into the unprimed canvas to emphasise the inquisitive investigation of my materials. Because to me the wander of painting lies in its process: imaginative play with materiality.
