Coventina and her water dragon

By  Klaire White 2024

Recycled textile wall hanging 2024

Coventina is an ancient water goddess, a spring found along Hadrian's wall in the north east of England is named after her.

I felt called to create her image in an older woman who was a healer. Alongside her is her water dragon who helps to transform any negativity. I liked the idea of her being in the dark womb of the earth transforming and nurturing life.

Text reads: drowning in pain and mystery illness, Coventina and her water dragon rise up to give me back my power.
