Descent

Duration 2 hours. Directed by Jenny Cashmore. Performed by Georgie Goater, Emilia Janasson and Jenny Cashmore. Devised and performed in response to the Finnish Natural History Museum, Helsinki. Presented as part of Museosafari; An event curated by Finnish Art Agency. ? A performance focusing on the main staircase of the Natural History Museum. A slow steady cycle was created in this transitional space by the performers who would constantly move down the staircase. Once reaching the bottom they would leave the space and begin again starting from the top. The cycle had a natural flow, the tempo being interrupted by pauses and interations between the performers and the architecture during the descent.
