different strokes

By Pen Dalton 2016
"different strokes for different folks" Rather than paint photographic reality I use the formal devices of painting to imply a solution to differences. Here there is the attempt to formally reconcile different kinds of brushstrokes on the canvas which can be seen as analogous to the political/racial difficulties of relationships between different kinds of people.
