Dolls/Doliau

I admire the craftsmanship and intricacy of Russian dolls. I suppose I am drawn to the fact that concealed within are so many replicas in ever decreasing sizes. It makes me think of the passing of time, personal evolution and the stages we experience between conception and death. In this painting the dolls represent Birth, Marriage and Death.
