entanglement

Image: Damian Griffiths

A disused quarry is digitally hewn, extracted and reconstituted in to a virtual form, enabling a process of intimate remapping to take place. Layered with imagery shot in the quarry by the artist, the viewer is guided through fluid skins of matter, as bodies of air, rock, earth, moss, flesh and water are visually entangled. A spoken narrative provides a speculative account in which the artist’s body is reclaimed by the matriarchal moss colony that now thrives out of the quarried landscape, before she becomes part of the antecedent strata beneath.
