Feral pigeons under Lancaster Road bridge

By  Lucy Stevens 2015

Lucy Stevens

This monoprint is a visual representation of feral pigeons thriving in an urban environment. It features the familiar cooing call represented as an 'm' to demonstrate the low repetitive nature of the voice, which was captured as a sound recording and visualised through sonogram software. Despite the location being part of the railway network with constant traffic, pollution and loud noise, the pigeons are able to thrive in this environment year after year like no other bird species.
