Glass page

David Lawson

Dimensions
10cm x 15cm

A series of one off screen-printed glass books, document historical aspects of the North East of England. Referencing the regions industrial heritage during the Age of Enlightenment, the work gathers together symbolic representations of the period. The work alludes to the fragility of knowledge in an age of hyper-technology. Designed as part of an installation at the Literary & Philosophical Society, one of England's largest independent libraries outside of London, the work forms a collection of glass pages.
