It is its reproduction and translation which is breathtaking and what that process will do to change the phenomena : projection is so tangible, fleeting and filled with disappointment ; the mechanically printed is both seductive and valueless. All will impact upon us in our consciousness for milli-seconds but be imperceptibly processed in our subconscious to add to our lexica of visual experiences. This series of prints take this premise as it starting point. Images were taken using a 35mm half frame camera. This was a deliberate decision, images appeared by chance within the same print as commercial processing struggled to deal with the notion of 2 images within the snapshot format. Film was commercially processed and printed. Images were selected, enlarged and merged using a colour photocopier. Potential images were then scanned and manipulated to enhance colour relationships. Selected Images were enlarged and printed using archival inkjet onto cotton rag paper. The process explores the availability of reprographic techniques and deliberately exploits their limitations. The word glut refers to both abundance of imagery and the availabilty of colour intensity and artificiality.
