The stills are from a series of films which aimed to explore the paradox of a cultural desire for change whilst at the same time resisting change - the static anxiety of waiting, the pause, the sense of anticipation or excitation which marks the suspension of time, and the longing to return when the ‘narrative’ moves relentlessly onward
