Gold Label I, II, III

Materials: 24ct Gold Leaf, Gold Size, Artist's Urine Gold Label is an ongoing repeatable public intervention, taking on meaning through a combination of the materials used and the historical, geo/socio/political contexts in which it manifests. After a likely site has been selected, the construction process begins with the artist's imbibing of one or two cans of Gold Label barley wine. Once processed, this is urinated upon the chosen spot (employing various techniques to gain a modicum of control over the visual outcome..). A tracing is then immediately made of the resultant shape with an oil pencil, and once dry, the painstaking final stage of applying the gold leaf can begin.
