Green with Golden Rings

I am fascinated by edgeland spaces and the overlooked in the landscape inspires my work.   Edgeland spaces are transitional areas where the city meets the countryside and are rich with visual and conceptual possibilities. I record these aspects on my journeys, using photography to document these moments of change and transition. Travelling by train to the studio, I was struck by the yellowness of everything and the way the buildings were reduced to indistinct shapes. I made a series of landscape studies which fed into the abstract painted collages.
