Hearts and wings start the beating IV
By
Nessie Stonebridge
2009
Stonebridge’s use of dusky pinks, yellows and volcanic reds evoke the sky on a cusp
of darkness or the skies of another world. This evocation of twilight represents
the inevitable triumph of darkness over light. Capturing the intense rush of libido
and the arresting presence of thanatos in one moment. Her works embrace and run
with a sense of spontaneous freedom and uncontrollable lust, falling out over whether
to kill or create.
