Prow and stern of 'Saxon' boat pinned into the ground like a giant bodkin. Sited at Essex University. It creates the illusion that the whole boat is emerging from the earth. The work is a response to the Sutton Hoo burial site nearby in East Anglia. Constructed with split bamboo and rope.
