Hope

By  Sue Stone 2017
Commissioned artwork made in 2017 for 'Unknown People' exhibition. Mixed media hand and machine embroidery and acrylic paint. Thought and time are as integral to Sue Stone’s practice as materials and making. Usually the characters portrayed confront the audience face on, looking out and inviting a conversation between viewer and maker. This piece celebrate the lives of the unknown children portrayed. Each one has their own story to tell. Faith, hope and fate all have a part to play in the partial narrative presented.
