Horizon/Line Series: St.Pair 3. 2016

These paintings are the latest in the series ‘Horizon/Line’, which started as an exploration of the relation between a line and its ground, in particular one that had an electric intensity to it. It developed into a further series as a consequence of observing the nature of the edge of the horizon on the sea from the coasts of France and the UK. These particular paintings are developed from studies made from observation on the coast of France, at St.Pair, south of Granville, and the Norfolk coast.
