Ill Fitting - inspired by observations of ENT surgery and conversations with NHS theatre staff

From a series of drawings in response to my time in theatre and subsequent conversations with the surgical team. Quote from an interview with the surgeon, ‘The actual drape of microscope speaks to me about the problems so endemic at the moment. It is an incorrect drape which doesn’t fit the microscope, is a nightmare for the nurses to place, and restricts my ability to use the microscope to its full potential. Eighteen months later, we’re still waiting for the manufacturers to come up with a drape that actually fits. This is the situation with some piece of kit or other on every list we do nowadays. We are constantly working flat out just to keep care at an acceptable level when the system seems to be broken'.
