In Parallel

By  Andrew Howe 2014 - 2016
This series of paintings was inspired by experiences in the business park and the surrounding edgelands of Shrewsbury. The project work reflects a curated eclectic response to these places, in which the view shifts from everyday details to the wider landscape and its emotional affect. Layers and montage are central to this work. Andrew investigates the relations between time and space, and tensions between control and liberty, geometry and chaos, organic and human-made. The exhibition is a result of a two year research project. Contextual research included place and space, site-related practice, the everyday, psychogeography, and walking as art practice.
