This is a painting of Jeanne Dielman, from Chantal Akerman's film 'Jeanne Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels'. I couldn't stop thinking about it after I watched it, and identified heavily with the themes of ritual in routines, and control. I was drawn to the almost alien-like structure of her hair, which seems impenetrable.
