Just a touch of slap

By  Helen Latham 2012 - 2013

Dimensions
70cm x 40cm

A human figure is captured at its zenith, with all the ideals of the time, by Greek or Roman sculptures (always male). Although set in stone time and age still inexorably work, physical perfection is replaced by a romantic ruin. Once turned back into flesh by the painter’s brush we come face to face with women, now ruined, are reduced to fighting tooth and nail to regain perfection, losing dignity and place in society as their youth fades.
