'UseHistories'

By Tony Humbleyard 2020

'UseHistories' 001 Beginning work on reconnecting the ‘ghost settlements’ around the loch…. Stackhoull/Petester/Cliff/ carrying soil made at the Shorestation in a recycled Kishie / a circumnavigation/ listening to the old lazy beds and stone cru’s/ future food banks/ tree nurseries / soil repositories? The act of carrying/ replanting/ Willow/ Hazel /Rowan/ Birch…./ a litany/ a remembering/ a response…. an entwining of the spatial acts/ sculpting/walking/dancing… The old settlement of Petester draws me back/ the village of the Pict’s/ a skeletal remaining in the empty doorways and windows/ the vertebra of turf and stone, marking forgotten boundaries / liminal spaces…
