Kulturmenu (Tramp Jam)

Made as part of the Kulturmenu project, Stuttgart, Germany. Although Stuttgart is one of the richest cities in Europe, there still seemed to be a good amount of people on the edge of society (tramps, junkies and alcoholics). I gathered some `ingredients' - the detritus from garbage bins - and cooked them up into a jam, presented in a fine champagne glass. An exercise in how to `hunt/gather' food in a city context, how food can be identified and defined, and how food can become an expression of the place it is found and prepared in. Based on the romantic ideal of finding food in nature.
