This frieze is the culmination of five years work manipulating computer programmes to achieve the detail I required through laser cutting technology. I aimed to develop a language of images and symbols from the history of world culture which I have used as a metaphor for human invention, learning, development and creativity. There is a narrative loosely woven through the frieze that makes reference to the various activities taking place in the buildings it surrounds.
