Unwanted, hand-knitted garments are used to make this matriarch a palanquin of comfort in which she may carry her infant. The weight of her efforts, welcome or not threatens to snap her shapely ankles. All those unasked for acts of love and self-sacrifice, potentially nurturing and smothering simultaneously.
