'Limits' series - Art and Science Festival 2015, Foot Drawing of University of Birmingham Library

I was invited to present a live drawing presentation as part of the University of Birmingham's Art and Science Festival March 2015. I start the drawing in biro to see t challenge the discipline of immediate and committed mark-making but biro proved to be completely impossible to wield on the very textured paving slab surface - my hopes and the drawing were dashed. So I moved to graphite pencil. With architectural subjects the accuracy of straight lines and perspective need complete concentration. I real enjoyed the dialogues with people at the festival observing the drawing process. The drawing involved intermittently changing feet and took around three hours.
