'Limits' series - Drawing created with feet at the Workshop on Interpersonal Postural Interaction

Saranjit Birdi

I was invited to create a live drawing presentation at the Workshop Workshop on Interpersonal Postural Interaction 22-23 June 2015 held at University of Birmingham. I decided to observe the delegates during the coffee and lunch breaks and also during the Poster presentations. The setting was the contemporary architecture of the lofty atrium and foyer space in the 'Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences' building. At the end of the day I was invited to exhibit the drawing and sit with the panel for a Q & A session in the lecture theatre. Needless to say I found the work of the delegates on postural control fascinating. Likewise I think they were intrigued by the rapid observational sketches created with the right and left foot, symmetrically on the paper. I feel at a stage now, that the drawings flow unconsciously.
