Lost

By  Peter Grego 2006 - 2007
Lost was shown at the Museo de Arte Contemporanea de Santiago in Chile from 14 December 2006 – 26 January 2007. The premise for the exhibition, Lost is to be found in T.S. Eliot’s work, The Rock: “Where is the Life we have lost in living? Where is the wisdom we have lost in Knowledge?” (Eliot 1934) Lost lives, lost lifestyles, lost lineage. Lost language, lost culture, lost thought. From the forgotten function of an industrial building, landscape or working life, to the lost language, culture and identity of a place or people, each of the four artists involved set out to explore aspects of loss. The exhibition was funded by the British Council, the Museo de Arte Contemporanea de Santiago in Chile and Birmingham City University.
